What is the best way to conceal the wire for pendant lamps?

I live in a rental apartment, and just found the most adorable pendant lamp to hang over my dinette area. However, the wire is draping along the wall to connect to an electrical outlet, and it looks tacky. I've secured the wire neatly in a corner, but is there a more stylish way to conceal it?
