Can I eat beef mince that was left at room temperature for 5 hours?

I forgot to put my beef mince in the fridge after I bought it, and went out for a few hours and discovered it in a carrier bag in my bedroom when I got back! I immediately put it in the fridge, but am worried about eating it. Should I bin it or cook it?
