Question about centerpieces?

Our wedding colors are brown, ivory and gold/champagne. I am thinking about doing center pieces in clear cube (square) vases. Lining the inside with cinnamon sticks, ivory flowers and a champagne ribbon around the top of the vase. Does this sound cute or silly. I saw something similar that was for a christmas wedding. Candy canes lining the inside of a vase and red and white flowers. It was cute, I am just wondering if cinnamon sticks would be cute. The crafty, dried kind that are natrual uncut and do not really smell. Thanks.
