Why do conservative Christians hate stay at home dads?

I have a family member that is super far right christian who thinks I am dropping the ball on my manhood because my wife is working while I go to graduate school full time and watch the children when I'm home? I lost my job and decided to go to school to become more employable. But SOMEONE in my family thinks that it is horrible that I would MAKE my wife work outside of the home while doing this. Any Christians out there who have a good solution to how this should work?
